Redemption is part of The Rebirth of Innocence, a body of work that reflects on the inner life, vulnerability, and the possibility of returning to a place of freedom, wonder, and renewal. The work also extends the ongoing series A Light Found Me, which explores the moments in which light finds its way into places that have felt overwhelmed by darkness. The idea for Redemption came to the artist during a quiet moment of prayer. The image arrived so vividly that it had to be sketched immediately before the moment passed. As the work developed, it became a reflection on faith as a gift from God — the quiet strength that can lift us from the weight of what surrounds us, allowing us to rise, find light, and begin again. In this sense, Redemption sits between innocence and renewal: a return to the possibility of being lifted, restored, and made new.
