Michael Escoffery - A Creator of Perceived Realities

Michael Escoffery, born in Kingston, Jamaica, has developed an international reputation as a renowned multidisciplinary artist. The son of intellectuals who valued artistic expression and studied with a celebrated Jamaican artist, his natural ability and leanings were cultivated and nurtured from a young age. Escoffery is one of the many distinguished artists featured in the collections at Framed Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio. 

As a painter and sculptor, who has also dabbled in filmmaking, Escoffery has enjoyed wide exposure in hundreds of solo and group exhibitions across the globe, including the storied Harlem Fine Arts Show (HFAS) and various Jamaican consulates and embassies. He has also been featured in countless television and radio programs as well as print publications, including newspapers, magazines, and books. 

Escoffery’s works often capture feminine beauty in everyday life, sometimes also drawing from centuries-long mother-and-child iconography, taking this out of a religious context and into an intimate cultural setting.
